Financial Advice Tailored to Your Needs

I am a husband to an amazing, selfless wife and a proud father to two wonderful and adventurous young boys. My motivation for the work I do is rooted in my desire to provide for them while giving back to my community. As a Christian, I believe that serving others is my calling, and I take great pride in seeing my efforts come to fruition as I help hardworking individuals and families achieve financial clarity and security.

How I Can Support You:

  • Gaining clarity around your cash flow and building a sustainable budget

  • Helping protect your family against the financial impact of disability, long-term care needs, or loss of life

  • Managing investments with your goals in mind while providing personalized planning services

  • Designing tax-efficient strategies to grow and preserve wealth

  • Living generously and making an impact on the communities and causes you care about

  • Creating a reliable retirement income strategy, along with thoughtful legacy, wealth, and charitable giving plans

Uncovering your financial goals may seem simple, but the journey to achieving them can be complex and overwhelming. The good news is, you don’t have to go it alone.

It all starts with a conversation, and I would love to have one with you to help guide you on your financial path, as I believe that true success is not just about wealth, but about the peace and purpose we find in helping others.

A Little About Me
A Little About Me

I grew up in the small town of Monroe, in southeast Michigan. After heading west to attend Michigan State University, I landed my first job in Grand Rapids—and I’ve been proud to call West Michigan home for the past 16 years.

In 2016, I met my wife Amy, and a year and a half later we were married. Since then, our family has grown with the arrival of our two boys, Aiden and Asher, who keep life fun, busy, and full of purpose.

I was raised with a strong Christian foundation, something I’m deeply grateful for. My mom was a prayer warrior who taught us the power of daily conversation with God and staying rooted in Scripture. She passed away in 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. My dad, who worked long hours at the local newspaper, still made it a point to be present at our games and school events. Now retired, he remains active in our hometown community, serving through church and Stephen Ministry—when he's not busy enjoying time with his grandkids.

My family is my motivation in all things. It's what led me to my calling in the financial field: helping other hardworking families create stability and financial clarity for their future. Life can be chaotic, and financial planning often takes a backseat to the demands of work and parenting. I’m here to step into that gap—to help make sense of the complex, to take some of the weight off, and to create clear, confident plans that support your goals, your values, and the people who matter most to you.

One month from now, I’ll be sleeping outside in solidarity with young people experiencing homelessness through the Covenant House Michigan – Grand Rapids Sleep Out. ❤️ I’ve been involved with Covenant House for a while, but recently I had the opportunity to bring more of my Thrivent board members and engagement team out for a tour. It was an incredible day of camaraderie, learning, and serving together. We also volunteered by organizing and preparing clothing in their donation and intake area for the young people coming through their doors. What continues to stand out to me is how Covenant House relentlessly loves and cares for young people ages 18–24, helping them find hope, stability, and a path toward a better future. That’s why I’m excited to participate in the Sleep Out. If you feel led to support our team, even a $5 donation can make a difference. When a lot of people come together with a little, it can make a huge impact. 👉 https://www.sleepout.org/participants/Andrew-Cousino And if you’re looking for an even more meaningful way to get involved, join us! You can participate individually or start your own team and sleep out in solidarity with these young people. You’ll hear incredible stories, learn more about the mission, and experience a night you won’t forget. The event I’m participating in is here in Grand Rapids, but Covenant House Michigan’s mission reaches young people across our state. If you can donate, join us, or simply share this post, thank you. Every bit of support helps Covenant House continue to relentlessly love, serve, and give hope. ❤️

Last month, I had the opportunity to facilitate a retirement planning workshop at the Georgetown Senior Center focused on a question that comes up for so many people approaching retirement: How do I make my money last? With people living longer, retirement planning doesn’t end when the paycheck stops. It becomes a different kind of planning—thinking through how and when to draw income, how taxes may affect those decisions, and how different “buckets” of retirement savings can work together throughout retirement. What I really enjoyed were the conversations that continued after the workshop. Some people walked away saying, “This is exactly what my advisor has been talking to me about,” while others left with new questions and things they hadn’t considered before. That’s one of the things I enjoy most about financial planning. Sometimes you don’t need to start over—you just need to take a step back, look at the bigger picture, and make sure the different pieces of your plan are working together. And retirement planning doesn’t stop at retirement. In many ways, that’s when some of the most important planning begins. Grateful to the Georgetown Senior Center for having me and to everyone who joined us! Looking forward to our next workshop next week covering more of these issues facing retirees.
